It seems everyone is getting in the podcast bandwagon these days. There’s good reason for that, podcasts are awesome!
I don’t have time to read every single digital marketing blog out there to try and stay on top of the trends and news. I’m sure many of you don’t either. That’s why I listen to podcasts on my way home from work, while I’m at work, on the way to work. Pretty much anytime I can.
I think it’s paid off as far as the things I have learned. Sometimes you just like to hear someone’s voice tell you what you need to know. In an industry like mine, it can be tough staying on top of what’s new. Especially since things seem to change from week to week!
With so many podcasts out there it can be tough to figure out which ones are the best. I have subscribed to literally dozens of them and after listening to some of them, I realize that they don’t give me what I want. I like podcasts that teach me something. Ones that talk to people who are actually doing digital marketing and can speak from real world experience are my favorite.
We here at Digital Marketing Boost focus a lot on Facebook ads so my list is a little bit geared more towards that side of marketing, but there is something in these for just about everybody.
Without any further ado(sp?)…here are my top 5:
This podcast comes to you from the folks over at Digital Marketer. If you follow them or Ryan Deiss then you know that they are without a doubt the top source for info and training on all things in the digital marketing space. They have teamed up with Keith Krance and Ralph Burns of Dominate Web Media and they also bring in Russ Henneberry and Molly Pitman from the Digital Marketer crew to discuss what’s working now. They cover everything from Facebook ads to email marketing funnels.
This podcast is definitely one to catch if you want to stay on the cutting edge of the newest online marketing strategies and tactics.
Jon is well known in the Facebook marketing space and has years of experience running Facebook ad campaigns for a number of clients as well as for his own products and courses. This podcast is a little more laid back and less structured than some other podcasts, which I like. John will sometimes bring on other guests and they talk what’s working in Facebook ads as well as other forms of marketing. They do this while putting back a few beers and enjoying themselves. Hey, why not?
Jon also publishes awesome content on his blog that will turn you into a Facebook ads rockstar in no time.
Rick Mulready’s podcast is full of helpful tips on how to get the most out of paid traffic. Rick is mostly a Facebook ads guy so the podcast is geared more towards that, but he does talk about other forms of paid traffic. He also talks about conversion rate optimization, copywriting and he brings on interesting guests that share how they used paid traffic to grow their business.
Rick gives a lot of good advice and really knows his stuff. He sells his own courses and has a wealth of knowledge that’s been gained from real world experience.
Conversion Cast is a podcast brought to you by the folks at Leadpages.net. They bring on guests that talk about how they achieved extraordinary results from a variety of digital marketing methods. They get into a lot of specifics and really dig into the numbers of different marketing metrics that matter. I like these podcasts because they are usually shorter (some under 15 mins) and they don’t have a lot of fluff.
Leadpages is a landing page software used by some of the top marketers in the world. Leadpages is unique, they track all of the conversion numbers from all of the people using their software and use that data to let you sort by which page converts the highest.
John Lee Dumas has pretty much set the standard for podcasting. He releases a new podcast every single day of the week and has some amazing guests. This podcast isn’t exactly all about digital marketing but he does manage to have a lot of guests who talk about how they leveraged different aspects of digital marketing to grow their businesses.
John is a machine, cranking out insightful and inspiring interviews with some of the top business people in the world. The only problem is trying to keep up with all of his shows!
How About You?
I love listening to the podcasts above and I highly recommend all of them if you want to learn about digital marketing.
I’m always on the lookout for more, though, so if you have any that you recommend please list them in the comments.
